Jasmine McLaughlin is a 2024 graduate of Sheridan College's esteemed Bachelor of Film and Television Program. She possesses specialized expertise in video editing and directing, honed through dedicated study and hands-on experience. With a passion for the cinematic arts, Jasmine began her creative journey at a young age, establishing a YouTube channel at the age of eleven. This platform has since grown an impressive subscriber base exceeding 100,000 and demonstrates consistent growth. While Jasmine finds fulfillment in various aspects of filmmaking, her primary ardor lies in editing films and music videos, as well as directing. The Postcards
2024/25
"The Postcards" is a psychological thriller about a widowed elderly woman who purchases a garden gnome to cope with the loss of her husband. As she begins to feel less lonely, the gnome mysteriously vanishes and starts sending her postcards from various locations. These postcards drive her to the brink of madness, leading to her disappearance. In the end, the gnome returns, leaving an eerie sense of mystery and unresolved questions. Jasmine is the director, editor, writer, producer and colour corrector on this film.

2023
Until Midnight is a live-action thriller short film, inspired by Coraline (2009). Jasmine is the Director, Editor, Writer, and Producer of this thriller short film. This film participated in multiple film festivals and won Best Student Film at the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival (TINFF).

Jasmine is a graduate of the Bachelor of Film and Television program at Sheridan College. She honed in on her editing skills and took all editing courses throughout her four years. She mastered her skills in Premiere Pro and is advanced in Avid.
2023-Present
General Operator at CHCH
Jasmine completed her co-op placement at CHCH in August 2023. She did an exceptional job and was offered a part-time position. As a general operator at CHCH, she is expected to edit packages for reporters, edit Broll for live voiceovers, and design graphics. The editing software she uses there is Premiere Pro, and the graphics system she uses is Xpression, Photoshop and After Effects.

In her final winter semester at Sheridan college, Jasmine was a classroom assistant for Peter Hordylan's first year editing class. Her tasks were to assist the students with navigating through Premiere Pro, be a mentor for the students, and assist the professor with teaching the lectures.
